Fall is almost here and holidays will follow in no time. Its time to start preparing for holidays. Preparations includes so many things at home, in the kitchen, gifts, decor etc. I decided to start with christmas ornaments. My inspiration for these ornaments came from my love for up cycling, dry flowers and leaves.
List of items needed –
- Cardboard rings – 5. You can chose more numbers as per your requirement. The procedure of making the rings is very simple and you can click here to follow the instructions to make these rings.
- Hot glue gun
- Jute twine
- Dry flowers, twigs, pine cones etc You can also chose whatever is available around you. I gathered all these on my route of daily walk.
- Any small piece of thick paper or card. You can recycle any old card.
- Wire hooks – You can easily get it from store or make your own size with the help of a thin wire and plier.
Procedure –
- Start with wrapping the twine on the rings. Hide loose ends under the twine and seal with hot glue. To hang these pcs, make a loop of the twine before cutting the end.
- Put together all the dry flowers, leaves, pine cones etc in shapes not larger than the inner size of the rings. I worked on each arrangement in a way that there is no right or wrong side. Each pc will look same on both the sides. I used a small pc of thick paper/ card in the center on which all the dried flowers and other stuff has been glued. You can make your own arrangements of the items you plan to use.
- Floral arrangement will be fixed inside the ring with the help of wire hooks. One end will pierce through the paper, which is hidden in the centre of the floral arrangement and other end through the wrapped twine on the inner side of the ring.
- Use another wire hook to hang these ornaments.
Simple and easily available items were used in creating these. If these have inspired you to make your own, share your creativity with me on chimingwindow@gmail.com for a chance to get featured on my website.
