Lace Seam – Seams#20- crochet#32

LACE SEAM -( With Hook)

Lace seam is made with crochet hook and can be used on both granny squares or other pieces. You would need stitch on the sides in the multiple of 3. In case of uneven numbers, you can increase or decrease stitches in round #1. Keep the pieces with right sides up.

On the piece 1, join the yarn for the seam in one corner with slip stitch and make (1SC, CH3, 1SC) in the corner.

*CH3, Skip 1, 1SC* and repeat till the 2nd corner. (1SC, CH3, 1SC) in the corner and repeat it till the last stitch. In the end, join with slip stitch to the first SC. Refer below image to understand this easily.

2nd round – Slip stitch in corner space and repeat the above (1SC, CH3, 1SC)corner stitch. CH3 and 1SC in next ch3 space. Repeat till the end and join to the first SC with slip stitch.

On piece 2, work 3 sides with the 2nd round. Last corner of the 3rd side, 1SC, CH1, pull the hook out of the loop. insert the hook in the corner ch3 space of the piece 1 and make a slip stitch, CH1, 1SC in the same corner of the 2nd piece, where the 1st SC was made. *CH1, pull the hook out and insert the hook in the next ch3 space of piece 1,make slip stitch, CH1 and SC in the corresponding ch3 space of piece 2.*

Repeat * * till the end. The end result will be a lacy join between the pieces, which will also add the space.

To join 3rd piece, work 3 sides with round 2 and join similarly.

To join 4th piece, work 2 sides with round 2 and join side 3 (same as above) to the corresponding side and similarly side 4 to its corresponding side.

I’m amazed, I must say. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both equally educative and interesting, and without a doubt,
you have hit the nail on the head. The problem is
an issue that too few people are speaking intelligently about.

I’m very happy I stumbled across this in my hunt for something concerning this.
