DOUBLE CROCHET LATTICE JOIN – (With Hook)
Double Crochet Lattice join is another seam, which creates space in-between 2 pieces. This is a simple seam to join granny squares, squares or any other shape.
It is similar to DC 2 together seam. The difference is the way DC is finished in each of the seam.
To join pieces with this seam, you can choose the yarn color matching or contrast. Keep the pieces with right side facing up.
Step#1 – Join the yarn in the corner space of the granny square pc#1 with DC. make the starting loop in the hook, yarn over and insert the hook in the corner space of the pc#1. Pull the yarn through the corner space and make DC. Refer the below image
Step#2 – After finishing the 1st DC in the corner space of pc#1, yarn over and insert the hook in the corner space of pc#2. Pull the yarn through and finish DC. Refer the below image
Step#3 – Chain 2. Refer the below image.
Step#4 – Yarn over, skip 2 stitches in the pc#1 and insert the hook in the next stitch and make DC. Refer the below image
Step#5 -After finishing the 2nd DC in the pc#1, skip 2 stitches in the pc#2, yarn over and insert the hook in the next stitch. Pull the yarn through and finish DC. Refer the below image
Repeat step#3, #4 and #5 till the end.
To join pc#3 and pc#4, place them on top of pc #1 and pc#2 and continue to join similarly.
Corners will have some space after joining pieces on all the sides.
